PROGRAM NOTE:

 

Three Visions aims to tell three different stories through the eyes of an oracle. I began this piece knowing I wanted to draw on something mystical to create moments of beauty, madness, and otherworldly magic. In this fast-slow-fast triptych, you will hear fragments of ideas that may not sound whole, or harmonies that ask a question which receives no answer. I am pleased to dedicate this piece to Reece Hinton. The sound of the euphonium is unique and strikingly beautiful, and I knew no one better than Reece to help me explore its capabilities.
